The Mustang Scholars Foundation seeks exceptional young men and women who will rise above their economic and social disadvantages to become leaders in their communities. 

Our mission is to invest in the youth of today and help them develop into leaders of the communities of tomorrow. We provide financial support to selected students who would otherwise be unable to continue their education in a structured educational environment.

You hold a U.S. High School Diploma, GED or international equivalent.

Mustang Scholars FoundationYou have demonstrated personal initiative and leadership potential through community service, your family responsibilities, academic excellence, youth activities, sports, JROTC, Band, etc.

Candidates have shown a propensity for giving back to their community and others..

Mustang Scholars Foundation You must meet the entrance requirements of VFMAC and/or the Early Commissioning Program (ECP).

You can demonstrate that without financial aid, either through grants, loans or scholarships financial barriers would make you unable to attend college without our assistance.

mUSTANG sCHOLARS fOUNDATIONSpecial consideration will be given to children of active or retired enlisted military personnel or of military or government (Federal/State) personnel who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The Selection Process

Each candidate must submit a fully completed application for the review and consideration of the Board.  A cohort of semi-finalists from the applicant pool will be invited for personal interviews. 

Personal interviews will be conducted by the Mustang Scholars Foundation Board or its representative.

Mustang Scholar Designees are selected by the Board from those that have successfully completed the application and interview process.  ECP candidates must enjoy either the endorsement and support of the Professor of Military Science.

The Foundation provides each Mustang Scholars Designee with a one-year renewable grant.

As a Mustang Scholar Designee you become a member of an elite group of achievers. Each Designeer must live up to the terms of the Mustang Cadet Contract to retain and or renew their grant.
